Charlie O'Mahoney
Director

What is your role?

I manage the Security scheme here at Movo called Security Insured, which is aimed at the security industry.

Your day to day?

I deal with the majority of new business enquiries that we receive and liaise with our scheme providers on a daily basis. I also manage the relationships that Security Insured has with the many brokers we deal with around the UK.

Favourite part of the job?

The favourite part of my job is definitely bringing new clients on board and tackling the more complicated enquiries that we receive, in the knowledge that there is very little we cannot insure.

Experience?

I have worked in the insurance industry since leaving school and in the time have worked for three different brokerages. In that time I have specialised in Property Owners policies, Construction, Tradesmen, Restaurant, Fleet and Professional Indemnity as well as obviously Security Liability.

How did you get involved in insurance?

I looked for a trainee job after finishing school and after some initial interviews I found that insurance offered me the best route for progression.

Three fun things about you?

I am very proud to still be holding down a creative midfield role for my Saturday league team in Kent. On the flip side I am a long suffering Spurs supporter longing for the glory years to return. Away from work I also love to travel to as many far flung destinations as I can - it definitely helps that my wife works in the travel industry.

How did you get involved in insurance?

Like many others I fell into insurance! After school, I got a job working in for a travel insurance claim management company. I remember wondering who these all-powerful people called underwriters were and wanted to become one. I eventually did and found my way into broking.

Three fun things about you?

I have always had a passion for construction and if I hadn't become an insurance broker I am sure I would have become a builder. I am a big Manchester City fan (from before 2008) and my favourite animal is the turtle.
